Getting Started
Is Colloqio free to use?
Yes. Colloqio is completely free to download and use. The core AI companion experience — including conversations, memory, and offline access — costs nothing. The only premium feature is custom AI-generated avatars, which is entirely optional.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Colloqio requires no account, no email address, and no sign-up process. Download the app from the App Store and start chatting immediately. We believe privacy starts with not asking for your personal details in the first place.
What devices does Colloqio support?
Colloqio is available for iPhone and iPad on the Apple App Store. The app requires a device with sufficient processing power and storage to run the on-device AI model efficiently. We're exploring additional platform support for the future.
How do I get started with Colloqio?
It's simple: download Colloqio from the App Store, wait for the one-time AI model download (about 2GB on Wi-Fi), and start chatting. No account needed, no configuration required. Your AI companion is ready to go in minutes.
Privacy & Security
Does Colloqio send my data to the cloud?
No. Colloqio runs 100% on your device. Your conversations, memories, and personal data never leave your phone. The AI model is downloaded once and processes everything locally. There are no cloud servers involved in your conversations. Read our privacy policy for full details.
What data does Colloqio collect?
None. Colloqio collects zero user data. No analytics, no usage tracking, no personal information, no conversation logs. The only network activity is the initial AI model download. After that, the app operates entirely offline with no data leaving your device.
Can I delete my conversation history?
Yes. Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control. You can delete individual conversations or clear all data from within the app settings. Deleting the app also removes all associated data permanently — because there's nothing stored anywhere else.
Is my data encrypted?
Your data benefits from Apple's built-in device encryption. When your iPhone or iPad is locked, data stored by apps (including Colloqio) is protected by hardware encryption. Since data never leaves your device, there's no risk of interception during transmission.
Does Colloqio use my conversations to train AI models?
No. Your conversations are never used to train any AI models. Since everything stays on your device, we have no access to your conversations whatsoever. The AI model you download is pre-trained and doesn't send data back for further training.

What is on-device AI?
On-device AI (also called edge AI or local AI) means the artificial intelligence runs directly on your phone or tablet, rather than on remote cloud servers. Does Colloqio work without internet?

How long does the AI model take to download?
The AI model download is approximately 2GB. On a typical Wi-Fi connection, this takes 5-15 minutes. On mobile data, it may take longer depending on your connection speed. This is a one-time download — after that, everything runs offline. For more details, read our deep dive on the model download.
How much storage does Colloqio need?
The AI model requires approximately 2GB of storage. The app itself is lightweight, and conversation history takes minimal additional space. In total, expect Colloqio to use around 2-3GB of storage on your device.
Will Colloqio slow down my phone?
No. Colloqio is optimized to run efficiently using Apple's Neural Engine and hardware acceleration. The AI processes only when you're actively chatting and uses minimal resources in the background. Your phone's performance won't be affected during normal use.

Does Colloqio remember my conversations?

How does memory work in Colloqio?
Colloqio automatically creates memories from your conversations. It remembers key details like your name, nicknames, preferences, and topics you discuss frequently. These memories are stored on your device and used to personalize future conversations, making interactions feel more natural over time.
Can I manage or delete specific memories?
Yes. You have full control over your AI companion's memories. You can view, manage, and delete specific memories through the app settings. This gives you complete control over what your AI remembers about you.
What kinds of conversations can I have with Colloqio?
Colloqio is designed for natural, open-ended conversations. You can discuss your day, explore ideas, get creative inspiration, talk through problems, or just have a friendly chat. What premium features does Colloqio offer?
The only premium feature is custom AI-generated avatars for your AI companion. Everything else — conversations, memory, offline access, and the core AI experience — is completely free. We designed it this way because we believe private AI should be accessible to everyone.
Do avatars affect my privacy?
Avatar generation is the only feature that uses cloud processing, as creating custom AI-generated images requires more computational power than a phone can provide. However, no conversation data or personal information is sent during avatar creation — only your avatar design preferences.
Troubleshooting
The model download seems stuck. What should I do?
If the download appears stuck, try these steps: ensure you're on a stable Wi-Fi connection, check that you have at least 3GB of free storage, close and reopen the app, or restart your device. The 2GB download can take 5-15 minutes depending on your connection. If issues persist, contact us for help.
The AI responses seem slow. How can I improve this?
AI processing speed depends on your device's hardware. For the best experience, close other apps running in the background to free up memory. Newer devices with more powerful processors will generally provide faster responses. We're continuously optimizing our models to improve speed across all supported devices.
